Alain De Jonge is a business lawyer having started his carrier in the US firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, prior to joining McKenna & Cuneo and subsequently Loyens & Loeff. He was a partner for seventeen years with Peeters Advocaten - Avocats, the name of which changed consecutively in Seeds of Law, then Andersen in Belgium. He then joined the team of DWMC.
His practice covers corporate law in its broadest sense. Alain accompanies companies, their shareholders and directors in every step as from the incorporation up to a possible restructuring or transfer.
He generally assists clients with the negotiation and drafting of agreements for the acquisition or transfer of undertakings and real estate, including hotels and shopping centres. He also advises clients on joint ventures and partnerships and the drafting of complex contracts.
If a dispute arises, Alain leverages his experience to resolve issues in a quick, pragmatic, and balanced way. If the dispute cannot be settled amicably ,he will defend his clients’ interests before the courts in Belgium and the competent international institutions.
His career path has also allowed him to develop expertise in more specific areas, such as art law, paternity law, legal questions regarding medically assisted procreation, and donor-conceived persons.
